“Be eligible for a $300 rebate by purchasing
a qualifying smart irrigation controller.”
The CVRD (Comox Valley Regional District) is now accepting applications for the 2016 Smart Control Irrigation Rebate Program.
This program will help residents in the CVRD to use water more efficiently. Commercial and residential property owners connected to the CVRD water system are eligible for a $300 rebate on the purchase of a qualifying smart irrigation controller that adjusts the watering schedule according to the weather.
The CVRD identified there is a significant increase in water use during the summer months. This increase is primarily driven by outdoor water consumption. This rebate program goal is to reduce summertime peak water demand by improving irrigation efficiency.
Residents are entitled to one rebate per installation address for a qualifying smart control device. The CVRD will complete a sit inspection following installation to confirm that the smart control has been installed as per manufacturer’s guidelines. All irrigation systems must have backflow protection.
