Time to Check Your Sump Pump!

Take a few minutes to ensure the system will be ready when the rains come. It can save you thousands of dollars later!

Start with a visual inspection of the sump area, check that it is clean with no debris and no obstructions that could cause the float to hang up.

Fall is here, are you ready for the rainy season?

Now is the time to check the operation of your sump pump down in the crawl space or basement. If the sump is dry, fill the sump with some water and check the operation by lifting and lowering the float. There should be a check valve on the system to stop water from draining back into the sump after the pump shuts off, so make sure to check its operation as well.

The float should be adjusted to turn off so the pump is still immersed in water, this helps keep the pump cool while running.

Remember to check the high water alarm system.

Because you don't want this to happen to you...
